Hi,
I've to re-import in DOORS the new WORD version of the Customer’s requirements. I've already imported the previous rev. as DOORS formal module.
Now I'd like to show as redlining the modifications from the newer module to the older.
But I found a big problem: I've already worked with comparison, but all of my "tools" works fine just if you modify in DOORS the formal module. When I run the "Compare Module" feature I saw all the modifications as NEW TEXT and not as modified text.
I investigated on the problem and I discovered that the "Old Text" attribute is EMPTY. So all the comparison tools integrated in DOORS or provided by Telelogic as dxl script can't work properly...
This problem appears either if I import the newer specification in a new Formal Module or if I import it in the same Module of the older one.
I think that I should OVERWITE the new objects text on the same old obj in order to have the same ID...only if the ID was the same the comparison tools worked fine...
Do you have any suggestion?

Aside from your comparison problem, you appear to have a big config management problem. The source of the specs appears to be held OUTSIDE of DOORS, to be imported regularly. That's hopeless since when a requirement changes you want to change it in DOORS, not import a brand new module and recreate all the links you have from it and to it. Yes, you want to replace existing requirements with the new requiremrents text, but gads that's real tough to line up the objects and move text over reliably.
No, put the Requirements in DOORS and edit them there. If they want a pretty MS-Word spec then export it for them. If they really want to edit outside DOORS, export them an Excel copy featuring the ObjID column, and later re-import it. Tell them they may not move stuff around nor add requirements, only edit them. Deleting from a spread sheet won't delete the requirement.
